Visiting Angels caregiver accused of stealing from elderly Port Charlotte man

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WWSB) – A Visiting Angels caregiver is accused of stealing cash, coins and jewelry from an elderly, disabled man in Charlotte County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the victim reported valuables missing from a Winchester gun safe at his Port Charlotte home. Court records describe the victim as paraplegic and over 65.

Investigators said they obtained a list of caretakers who visited the victim’s home and reviewed pawn records. One employee, Irlene Innocent Saint Armano, matched pawn activity during the time frame of the theft.
