It looks like Villages-News.com has gone off the rails with the pro-MAGA letters to the editor. Have they disabled the comments again because so many of the posts were exposing the letters’ lies and misinformation? Just like Mr. Lynch’s letter, which is nothing more than biased opinions being presented as fact.
A good example is: “Illegals are criminals because they are here illegally.” There is no evidence of a widespread, systemic, or illicit “paid protester” program.
As for popular MAGA assertions that all immigrants are “illegals”, tens of thousands are awaiting asylum in the U.S. They and their families are generally permitted to stay while their application (Form I-589) is pending. They must meet specific criteria to get an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and eventually a Green Card after asylum is granted, though recent policy changes may affect decision-making timelines…
