SpaceX launch from California tonight could bring sonic booms — more coming soon

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is expected to take off from California Wednesday evening, carrying 25 Starlink satellites into orbit — and potentially producing sonic booms across parts of the Central Coast.

The launch is targeting around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base. SpaceX’s live broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6:39 p.m., with liftoff expected shortly after.
