An acclaimed California winery, once a darling of the Pinot Noir movement, is closing

A beloved Sonoma County winery is calling it quits.

Healdsburg’s Arista Winery, which became a darling of the Pinot Noir movement in the mid-aughts, did not produce any wine during last year’s harvest and will not produce any more in the future. Its final vintage will be 2024, co-owner Mark McWilliams said.

“The industry is shifting,” he said. He and his brother, co-owner Ben McWilliams, had to make “real family decisions about where we invest our time and money,” he continued. “We realized that it was probably time for us to exit.”…
