SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Schenectady County District Attorney, Bob Carney, says Rance White guilty plea for the murder of Amanda Jaikaran was unexpected.
Carney told NewsChannel 13’s Dan Levy that White’s attorney contacted him Monday, January 19 saying White wanted to resolve the case.
“There was some talk about exploring a mental disease or defect disease, but that wasn’t realistic in this case,” Carney said. “He clearly knew what he was doing. He just, for whatever reason, (was) very angry at her and brutally took her life.”…
