Student hit by vehicle while biking to Scott Middle School, driver cited

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln Public Schools said a student was hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle to Scott Middle School Wednesday morning.

According to Lincoln Police, a 60-year-old woman was traveling southbound in a Toyota Avalon on Ridge Road around 8 a.m. when she looked in the opposite direction and turned right, not seeing the 12-year-old student riding his bicycle westbound on Ridge Road.

The vehicle and child subsequently crashed into each other, though the student said he could not remember if he had run into the vehicle or if the vehicle crashed into him, officers said…
