A 28-year-old Independence man died in a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 70 just east of Woods Chapel Road in Blue Springs.
The eastbound lanes of the interstate at Woods Chapel Road were closed for about three hours; the area reopened around 6:30 p.m.

A crash report posted Wednesday night on the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s website states the 28-year-old man died when his 2014 BMW X3 crashed into the back of a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer.
