Court denies Omaha spree killer Nikko Jenkins’ latest motions

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha spree killer Nikko Jenkins‘ court filings for relief, submitted in 2020 over seven different contentions, were denied this week by a Douglas County Court judge.

The request ends Jenkins’ request for funds for a mental evaluation he requested about four months ago. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine called the decision a “step in the right direction” — and relief that the state “can close that door” in this case.

According to a court document filed Tuesday, Judge Peter C. Bataillon dismissed all seven points in Jenkins’ request for post-conviction relief, finding none of them required further examination or even a hearing.
