Kansas swimming pool business ordered to pay $63,000 for deceptive acts

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A judge has found that a swimming pool maintenance and repair business engaged in deceptive acts under the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that Wesley Petty, aka Jon W. Petty has been ordered to pay tens of thousands of dollars.

Petty, doing business as Huckleberry Pool and Huckleberry Maintenance LLC, came under investigation after a consumer complaint filed with the DA’s Office. Prosecutors said Petty violated the Consumer Protection Act when he recommended a saltwater pool system, which he claimed was his favorite and easy to maintain, to a customer.
