Conroe’s Boy Scout camp turns into nearly-filled master-planned community

A former Boy Scout camp turned sprawling master-planned suburb in Conroe is nearly complete, with expectations to sell out by the end of next year.

Grand Central Park—a 2,000-acre community—released their final 159 homesites last month, according to a press release from property owner Johnson Development Corp. on Wednesday. Lot sizes ranged between 45 and 60 feet wide.

Bob Douglas, senior vice president and general manager, expects the last newly built home in the community to sell by the third or fourth quarter of 2027…
