2 men indicted, charged with murdering Niagara Falls man

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two men have been indicted and are facing murder charges following the death of a Niagara Falls man at a memorial event in August 2024, the Niagara County District Attorney’s office announced Wednesday.

Marvin E. Porter, 37, and Rojae J. Mitchell, 23, are facing charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and second-degree conspiracy. Mitchell has also been charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Officials allege that Porter and Mitchell conspired together to murder Anthony Brantley before allegedly killing Brantley on Aug. 24, 2024. Mitchell was apprehended in Alabama and returned to Niagara County in January 2025; Porter was arrested over the weekend, officials said.
