Funding cuts impact refugee initiatives, Erie Community Foundation lends helping hand

During COVID-19, the Erie Community Foundation established its Rapid Response Fund, which was designed to help organizations facing funding issues during the pandemic.

Back in March, the foundation decided to re-establish that fund to address challenges posed by state and federal funding cuts.

“We saw disinvestment into refugee, new American initiatives that were really about helping folks re-settle here in Erie, and there were about 5,000 of those folk,” said Pat Herr,  Vice President of Community Impact at the Erie Community Foundation…
