Florida CFO calls out Nassau County for increasing government spending

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla — Florida’s authority on government financing is making a push to cut back on spending to save taxpayers’ money.

Chief Financial Office Blaise Ingoglia was in Nassau County Wednesday to share his concerns with inflating county budgets.

Ingoglia said he’s audited 12 counties so far as he works across the state, and it’s actually been the smaller counties that have seen the largest percent increase in their budgets. Nassau County has seen the largest increase of any of them, Ingoglia said, with a 96% increase in the past five years for just an 18% increase in population…
