Kalamazoo Shelters Open Doors During Fierce Snowstorm Crisis

Currently in Southwest Michigan, we are experiencing one of the worst strings of snowstorms we’ve had over the last few years, and unfortunately, there are people in the city who are unsheltered and have nowhere to go but temporary shelters.

There’s one organization in Kalamazoo that is doing everything it can to get these people the necessities they need to stay alive and safe during storms like this.

Megan Giambrone is the cofounder and president of United for the Unsheltered of Kalamazoo, and in a conversation we had, she expressed just how vital it is that we help those in need in our community, and just how much we can accomplish if we band together:

Monday and Tuesday this week we were able to get permission from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church writing downtown Kalamazoo to open up a warming shelter both days.
