Rehabilitators tried to save an owl found tied in a bag, but her injuries were too severe

EATON RAPIDS, Mich. – A great horned owl found hurt and tied up in a bag along a roadside in southwest Michigan has died.

Wildlife rehabilitators had cared for the female owl they named “Winter” for more than a month when the raptor’s injured foot became necrotic. The owl wouldn’t have been able to perch without both feet, so caretakers euthanized the bird.
