Man charged in connection to 2021 arson fire at Lancaster Township apartment complex will stand trial

LANCASTER, Pa. — A New York man charged with setting fire to a Lancaster Township apartment complex that left multiple residents displaced will have his case proceed to Lancaster County court following a preliminary hearing earlier this month, prosecutors said this week.

Judge Mary Mongiovi Sponaugle ruled Jan. 6 that the case of Husani Laviscount, of Queens, could proceed to the Court of Common Pleas on a single count each of arson, burglary, risking catastrophe and criminal mischief, as well as eight counts of recklessly endangering another person, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
