Loxahatchee Groves stands firm in refusal to pay PBSO amidst ongoing service dispute

TOWN OF LOXAHATCHEE GROVES, Fla. (CBS12) — The Town of Loxahatchee Groves isn’t backing down in its battle with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, saying if law enforcement isn’t providing service, the town won’t pay.

In a 3-2 vote, the Loxahatchee Groves commission decided to continue weighing its options, including continuing nonpayment, ending the contract, or seeking a mutual termination agreement.

During a Tuesday meeting, The Town of Loxahatchee Groves said it would be withholding payment to PBSO due to services not being provided for the past two months. Under the contract that the town currently has with the sheriff’s office, there are no provisions for additional compensation or penalties for late payment…
