Dallas Baptist University cancels classes, evacuates campus over threats, officials say

DALLAS — Dallas Baptist University canceled classes and evacuated the campus over several threats Thursday ahead of U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner’s visit to campus, officials said.

DBU officials in a statement said the school was “made aware of several unverified threats involving the campus.” It was not clear if the threats were connected to Turner’s visit, which was going to be a speaking engagement with Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson.

Turner’s office confirmed the event was canceled due to a security concern on the DBU campus, but more details were not released…
