Popular Candy Makes Seasonal Appearance at Dollar Tree

(KMDL-FM) The news from Dollar Tree hasn’t been all good over the past few days. There have been reports of lagging sales or worrisome retail trends that economic analysts have brought to light. But for you and me, the news from Dollar Tree is good. Especially if you like a certain kind of candy in large bags.

As far as candy goes, we are kind of in a no-man’s land. We’re beyond Christmas with the Reese’s Santa Claus and Christmas Trees. We’re too early for Easter and Gold Brick Eggs and other goodies from Elmer.

Unless you’re in love, you’re not thinking about candy for Valentine’s Day. So what does someone with a sweet tooth have to look forward to in the days between MLK Day and Singles Awareness Day?

What’s The One Candy That Republicans and Democrats Can Agree On?

Well, let’s just say this is the one candy that, no matter which side of the political spectrum you fall on, you can find a treat that fits your swagger. That’s because the candy in question has a right side and a left side, and unlike political parties that claim to be one of those sides, these won’t make you vomit like former President Bush at a Japanese state dinner.

No, we’re not talking about Twix, we’re talking about the one candy that wants to give us the one thing that we need the most. We need a break. Heck, even McDonald’s told us we needed that way back in the 1970s.

The savvy candy consumer has figured out that we’re talking about Kit Kat, but what you don’t know about Kit Kat and Dollar Tree is this. Dollar Tree now has the seasonal Kit Kat flavor that I am told is better than the original.

No, I have never sampled Kit Kat’s Lemon Crisp Flavor, but I could if I had a few bucks and was visiting my nearby neighborhood Dollar Tree store. The Lemon Crisp flavor is seasonal, and no, it’s not exclusive to Dollar Tree. They just happen to have them in the 20-bar bag for $5.

Why Are People Going Crazy For Lemon Crisp Kit Kat Bars at Dollar Tree?

The Lemon Crisp construction is similar to the regular Kit Kat. It has the signature wafer cookies in the middle, but instead of the typical chocolate, there is what has been described as the “most intoxicating mixture of lemon tart and creamy sweetness known to mankind”. That’s how it was described to me by a friend. I think he is a part of Louisiana’s Medical Marijuana Program, so that might explain the enthusiastic review…
