Mayor of Riverview awaits initial court hearing

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The Mayor of Riverview, Michael Cornell Jr., is set to face a judge at 10 a.m. Thursday. He was arrested about a week ago on nine charges, including sexual crimes involving minors.

He is currently at the St. Louis County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond, as he awaits his hearing.

The alleged crimes were committed beginning in 2016 to the present, and of the four victims that have come forward, two are under the age of 17. Investigators also say that they found child sexual abuse material on the mayor’s cellphone…
