SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Intermountain Health announced that they will freeze their pension plan at the end of the year, citing a need for a more stable retirement program for the long term.
Intermountain employees with a pension plan, which is currently about one third of their caregivers, will continue earning benefits through the end of 2026. None of them will lose the pension benefit they have already earned; they will simply no longer earn pension benefits after the freeze.
