Moon Maiden Tattoo has partnered with Burrito Brigade — an organization providing food to hungry individuals across Lane County — for a tattoo fundraiser on Jan. 24. Community members will have the opportunity to get a flash tattoo by one of six Moon Maiden artists, each with their own unique flash sheets. “The artists at Moon Maiden Tattoo understand that mutual aid and local organizations are essential for a thriving community,” tattoo artist and event organizer Maya Ahara says. “Tattoo fundraisers give us the opportunity to support causes that we feel are important, while also doing something we love.” She says it was an “easy” choice to partner with Burrito Brigade. “They do incredible work and have implemented so many creative solutions for fighting hunger and reducing food waste in our city.” In addition to collaborating with Burrito Brigade, Moon Maiden has done fundraisers with local organizations, including Black Thistle Street Aid and Luvable Dog Rescue. “We are really happy to be hosting fundraisers on a regular basis, and hope that they continue to pick up steam so that we can make a bigger impact for the local businesses and organizations we partner with,” Ahara says.
Tattoo Fundraiser for Burrito Brigade is noon to 7 pm Saturday, Jan. 24, at Moon Maiden Tattoo, 275 West 8th Avenue. Tattoo prices start at $50.
A Note From the Publisher
The last two years have been some of the hardest in Eugene Weekly’s 43 years. There were moments when keeping the paper alive felt uncertain. And yet, here we are — still publishing, still investigating, still showing up every week.
