Oregon National Guard Aircrews design new standard of life-saving equipment, implemented across entire U.S. Army

SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) — The Oregon National Guard aircrews have designed a new, life-saving piece of equipment necessary for medical evacuation operations which is now standard across the U.S. Army.

The innovation? A new, redesigned litter strap named “SK-1189-V” after the 1st Battalion, 189th Aviation Regiment – has been certified by the U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory and will now be standard for every MEDEVAC unit in the Army.
