CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Benton County Board of Commissioners has reopened the record for LU-24-027 to accept new evidence concerning the proposed expansion of the Coffin Butte Landfill.
According to Benton County, the public can submit written comments and testimony related to a Nov. 6 letter from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
In a public hearing on Jan. 20, the Board considered a recommendation from Planning Division staff to accept the DEQ letter issued after their previous decision in November 2025. The Board approved a schedule for public testimony and further deliberations. The deadline for submitting responses to new evidence is Feb. 3.
