Pierce County unincorporated areas may gain city status, more govt. control under new bill

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A new Senate bill could pave the way for densely populated areas in unincorporated Pierce County, such as South Hill, to become cities, offering residents more control over local governance.

Currently, South Hill boasts a population of around 70,000, surpassing cities like Olympia, Wenatchee, and Bremerton.
