Firearms Seizure
This all started in August of 2025 when the FBI uncovered a massive money laundering project in the Capital Region. Iziah and Kaya Cox of Albany were arrested after it was discovered they were involved in a scheme that made false statements to Capital Region banks.
These statements were made under businesses that had no idea they were involved. The Coxes used the banks to then open other bank accounts, and collected wire transfers and checks from the businesses they were appropriating. After their arrest, 135 firearms were recovered from connected residencies, making it the largest firearm seizure in Capital Region history.
Operation Tidal Wave
The FBI, obviously, did not back down. On January 21st, 2026, Operation Tidal Wave hit the jackpot. Seven members of the ring were indicted and charged with conspiring to launder $7.1 million across state and national lines after.
Those involved were:
- Iziah Cox of Albany
- Kaya Cox of Albany
- Sincere Cox of Albany
- Davion Carrington of Albany
- Jahmell Manso of Albany
- Tiffany Banks of Albany
- Tamicca Jennings of Albany
Iziah Cox gained an additional Illegal Possession of a Firearm as a Felon charge in connection with the 135 firearms seized last year…
