Boston Man Charged with Multiple Theft-Related Offenses Amid Spree in Dorchester Area

A Boston man, My Tran, aged 43, faces a slew of charges connected to a series of thefts after being arraigned last week; Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced this alarming accumulation of cases, as reported by Suffolk District Attorney’s Office. Tran is now juggling 11 pending cases that involve multiple incidents of shoplifting and other larceny-related charges, with the latest arraignment concerning two counts of shoplifting by asportation (third offense) and one count of trespassing, during which prosecutors requested bail revocation only to see Tran released on personal recognizance by Judge Jonathan Tynes, with a court return date set for March 16.

Tran’s recent run-ins with law enforcement include stealing $100 worth of steaks on July 4, 2025, and later $143 of batteries from the same Target location at 500 Geneva Avenue. His legal troubles have tangled like headphone wires in a pocket; these two incidents are just a fraction of his alleged crime spree engulfing Dorchester and surrounding areas.

His alleged criminal record reads like a grocery list of petty thefts and break-ins. Police have responded to numerous shoplifting calls at Target, where Tran allegedly made away with a variety of items, from razors to meat and shampoo; and in a bold twist on April 23, he broke into a residence, stealing packages, and entered another property through a shattered glass door to take cleaning supplies. In an unfortunate display of brazen disregard, during the same period, residents on Victory Road found their Amazon deliveries plundered—one missing a brand-new iPhone and another a wedding vow book…
