Man accused of breaking into home, assaulting woman, North Charleston Police say

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home and assaulted her last month.

Marquel Daquan Irving, 27, of Orangeburg County, is charged with first-degree assault, strong-armed robbery and first-degree burglary.

Police responded to a burglary call on McKnight Drive on Dec. 29, around 10 minutes after the incident was reported. The victim told officers that her “on-again, off-again” boyfriend had entered her home without permission.

She said her barking dog awakened her and saw him inside her bedroom. After he refused to leave after she ordered him to, he allegedly grabbed her phone and keys and attempted to leave the house to get into her car…
