16-year-old, parents charged after man is shot on West Northwest Boulevard in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting that left one man injured.

At 3:28 p.m., the WSPD responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of West Northwest Boulevard and found a 55-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

An investigation determined that a disturbance occurred between occupants of adjacent apartments involving Nathaniel Best, 16, and the man who was shot. The disturbance became physical, in which Best shot into the man’s apartment, hitting him in the back…
