Carlisle Man Charged Following Reported Knife Threat at Local Business

A Carlisle man was arrested early, January 18, 2026, following a reported assault and knife threat at a downtown business, according to the Carlisle Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 12:56 a.m. to the Gingerbread Man, located at 5 S. Courthouse Avenue, for a report of a man threatening patrons with a knife. A short time later, officers located Michael Tashawn Evans, 37, who matched the suspect description.

Evans was taken into custody and positively identified by witnesses as the individual who allegedly struck a woman in the face and threatened two people with a knife. Police reported that a knife was later recovered after Evans attempted to hide it while fleeing the scene…
