‘Significant’ storm coming Sunday. Here’s how much snow RI may get

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 11:44 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 for a storm that it says could drop between 6 and 12 inches of snow on the region, and more than a foot in some areas.

The watch will go into effect Sunday morning and continue through Monday evening.

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” the weather service said. “Travel during the Monday morning commute is likely to be very difficult.”…
