Photos of ICE agents in San Jose were AI-generated prank, Rapid Response Network says

(KRON) — Photos that appeared online recently showing what appeared to be a large presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the South Bay appear to be AI-generated. That’s according to the Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, a community activist group that provides ICE updates in real time.

The photos appeared online on Wednesday and depicted what looked like ICE agents and ICE vehicles in the area of Santee Drive and Crucero Drive in San Jose.

Rapid Response Network said its team canvassed the area and confirmed there was no ICE presence in the neighborhood. The group posted on Instagram that its team also spoke with neighbors who said there was no ICE activity in the area Wednesday.
