A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of the Hill Country and the Interstate 35 corridor, including Austin, the National Weather Service said Thursday. Forecasters had issued a winter storm watch Wednesday for the region, but as forecast confidence has increased, an upgrade to a warning was needed.
The warning area includes cities such as Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Burnet, Llano, Boerne, Marble Falls, Blanco and Dripping Springs in the Hill Country, as well as New Braunfels, San Marcos, Austin and Round Rock along the I-35 corridor. The warning goes into effect at 6 a.m. Saturday and lasts through noon Sunday.
