JACKSON — The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Jackson Chapter is proud to announce that Dr. Katherine Pannel, DO has been named the 2025 Mississippian of the Year. Dr. Pannel will be honored at an awards banquet on February 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM, held at Table 100 in Flowood, Mississippi.
Dr. Pannel is a board-certified psychiatrist and currently serves as Medical Director for RightTrack Medical Group and Magnolia Health Plan. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. A native Mississippian, Dr. Pannel earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Delta State University and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her internship and residency training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
A distinguished physician leader, Dr. Pannel is the current President of the Mississippi Medical Association and President-Elect of the Mississippi Psychiatric Association. Her extensive leadership service includes roles as District 3 Trustee and Chair of the Mississippi State Medical Association Board of Trustees, past President of the Northeast Mississippi Medical Society, President of the Mississippi Physician Health Program, and board member of the Mississippi Rural Physician Scholars Program.
