Here’s a list of places in the Rockford area that have announced closures for Jan. 23 because of the extreme cold warning, during which temperatures are expected to drop to -13 degrees.
Rockford Public Schools
All Rockford Public Schools will be closed. All after-school activities will also be cancelled including Y Care. The RPS 205 Administration Building, Sterling Holley, and Operations Support Center will be open.
Rock Valley College
All Rock Valley College buildings will be closed. RVC will move to virtual learning and a remote workday. All in-person events will be cancelled.
Harlem School District
All Harlem School District schools will be closed. All activities are canceled on Friday.
Belvidere School District
