A Kansas man who grabbed a flight attendant and dragged them up the aisle of a plane will not serve jail time.

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut announced that 25-year-old Wichita resident Julius Jordan Priester was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine for assaulting a crew member. Priester previously pleaded guilty to interference with flight crew members and attendants on Oct. 1, 2025.

According to the statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred on May 27, 2025, after Priester boarded an American Airlines flight departing Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn. About 30 minutes to an hour into the Chicago-bound flight, Priester stood up, began to take his shirt off and ran to the back of the plane yelling, “Help me.”…
