$42M high school stadium renovation approved as North Texas growth booms

One school district in North Texas will soon start a $42 million renovation of its football stadium.

Red Oak ISD, located in South Dallas, approved a Prop C Bond in January 2025 to allocate $46.8 million for renovating Goodloe Stadium, the home stadium for Red Oak High School (Red Oak ISD also has five elementary schools and two middle schools). These funds—part of a larger $213.9 million bond package—will be used starting in March, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) document obtained by Chron.

The extensive project will renovate the “existing grandstand seating” and the stadium press box, according to the TDLR filing. Goodloe Stadium will also get a new fieldhouse and a new ticketing booth, with the grounds covering more than 24,000 square feet…
