Oklahoma braces for winter as local groups mobilize to aid those facing homelessness

TULSA, OKLA (KTUL) — As winter weather descends on Oklahoma, dangerously cold temperatures are raising concerns for those without a warm place to stay.

Local organizations are working tirelessly to provide assistance, while many experiencing homelessness are taking their own steps to survive the cold.

Preparation for those on the streets often begins with layering clothing and identifying available shelters and resources. Mark Weaver, a volunteer at The Merchant who once experienced homelessness, emphasized the importance of staying mobile to keep warm. “I stayed warm because back then I was really mobile.
