Potential ice storm poses challenges to health care system

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Families with loved ones on hospice care or relying on medical devices that run off electricity may be asking if there are emergency plans in place if the power goes out.

Local first responders, hospitals and hospice facilities are preparing for potential winter weather impacts on medical care.

“All hospitals have emergency preparedness departments and plans for these sorts of things.
