BART has released a long-awaited report (opens in new tab) meant to explain the causes of a series of meltdowns that escalated in the latter half of 2025.

Slated to be presented to the BART Board of Directors on Thursday, the report by an independent consultant is chock-full of engineering terminology that no regular commuter would be able to parse (thankfully, there’s a glossary). But critics say the findings fall short of explaining the reasons for the disruptions or how BART can prevent them from happening again…
