MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police says it may activate its Inclement Weather Policy ahead of predicted winter weather.
During inclement weather, MPD may activate the policy to help manage call volume and prioritize emergency responses. When this policy is activated, MPD will issue alerts on official social media platforms to notify the public.
What is the policy?
If drivers have been involved in a crash and there are no injuries, drinking or drugs involved and no wreckers are needed on the scene, the drivers should exchange names, addresses, phone numbers, insurance information and tag numbers of the vehicles involved. Both drivers should arrange a time to meet at the nearest Memphis Police Department Precinct or report to the Memphis Police Department Traffic Office located at 3430 Austin Peay.
