20 years after Ivan, Navarre Beach homeowner offers to fix hurricane damage

A homeowner’s appeal to Santa Rosa County to allow him to repair a multi-million dollar Navarre Beach residence that has been uninhabitable since Hurricane Ivan in 2004 did not receive a favorable reception Jan. 20 from the Board of County Commissioners.

Gary Turner, whose home address is in Colorado, came to the board offering to resolve a lawsuit between himself and the county that was originally filed in 2016. His appearance follows an April ruling by Circuit Court Judge Clifton Drake granting the county’s request to foreclose on Turner’s home at 7315 Gulf Blvd.

Turner has appealed the decision and, in his request for resolution, states “the appeal has a substantial likelihood of success.”…
