PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — Pinellas County Schools hosted a public forum Thursday night at Cross Bayou Elementary to discuss their “Planning for Progress” initiative, a months-long program to help the district save money by closing and consolidating schools across the county.
The district maintains no jobs will be lost and all programs will remain at other locations.
More than 50 families attended the meeting at the school, getting fiery with district staff over the plan, which would close a school that hosts numerous students with disabilities at the end of the 2025 school year…
