Hillside, URMC team up to enhance youth mental health services with new program

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A new Hillside program was launched in partnership with the University of Rochester Medical Center on Wednesday.

The Next Steps: Critical Time Transition Program will help youth who need additional services upon discharge from local hospitals. This will assist with mental health counseling, recreational therapy, and behavioral support.

Individuals seeking to enroll in the program must have been in an emergency, inpatient psychiatric, or medical setting for 72 consecutive hours. Youth can stay in the program for 6 to 9 months, and an in-house facility provides access to transitional residential beds for up to 120 days at any time during enrollment…
