Travel advisory in Livingston County
Livingston County issued a level one travel advisory starting Thursday morning until further notice. Level one means drivers are advised to be extra cautious. It does not mean that roads are closed. The sheriff’s office says the advisory is because of snow-covered roads and a series of recent weather-related crashes. Deputies are reminding people to yield to the plows while they clear and salt roads.
Code Blue in Monroe County
We’re tracking some frigid temperatures this week and weekend, with a Yellow Alert for Friday for dangerous wind chills and Sunday for possibly heavy snow. Anytime temperatures drop below freezing or winter weather poses a serious risk, Monroe County issues a Code Blue, meaning that RTS bus services offer free transportation to shelters.
The goal is to support the homeless people or those living in sub-standard housing. RTS offers free transportation to the Open Door Mission on Plymouth Avenue (routes 15 and 21), House of Mercy on Ormond Street (route 3), and Saving Grace Ministries on Norton Street for men (routes 4 and 5). RTS OnDemand also offers transportation to two shelters in Brockport, Oak Orchard on West Avenue and First Baptist Church on Main Street…
