All the school speed zone cameras are doing is raising money for the city of Syracuse and not doing anything really positive. If you want to slow people down, make it safer, then put in speed bumps in the correct places.
There are speed bumps behind Lincoln Park that are absolutely in the wrong place and do nothing except become an aggravation.
There are areas on West Genesee Street that are ridiculous as the speed limit keeps changing for a couple of miles from 20 mph to 30 mph and back again, because of schools within blocks of each other. Make that entire zone 20 mph. It will be less confusing…
