CENTRAL TEXAS — Multiple warming centers are opening across Central Texas to provide residents with a safe refuge from the extreme cold brought on by the arctic cold front this weekend.
In Austin, public library locations will be open as warming centers across the city beginning Saturday. Travis County Community Centers will also serve as warming centers during normal business hours.
Austin’s Central Library, Terrazas Branch Library, and Little Walnut Branch Library locations will extend their operating hours on Saturday and Sunday. Those locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
