Yesterday in South Lewisville, a masked gunman walked into a Cash America Pawn, pulled out a handgun and took off with cash, according to police. Officers swarmed the area shortly after the call came in, and authorities said no one inside the store was hurt during the robbery.
What Police Say Happened
Lewisville officers were dispatched at about 10:48 a.m. to the pawn shop near the 1400 block of Business State Highway 121, where the suspect reportedly produced a handgun and left with cash. Police described the suspect as a man wearing a dark sweatshirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a face mask, carrying a bright red duffel bag. Investigators said they have not determined whether he is tied to any other recent robberies in the area and that the investigation is ongoing, according to The Dallas Express.
Police Warnings and Public Safety
Public Information Officer Tre Mathis urged anyone who may encounter the suspect to keep their distance, call 911 and not follow him while officers work to track him down. The department asked residents to let investigators handle any potential sightings and to send in tips only through official channels rather than confronting anyone, according to The Dallas Express.
