Convicted felon charged after drugs, gun found during searches in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A search warrant executed in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, Jan. 20, led to the arrest of a convicted felon on multiple drug charges.

Daitrean Butler, 24, of Baton Rouge, faces multiple charges, including:

  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • illegal carrying of weapons with a controlled dangerous substance
  • resisting an officer – refusal to give name or make identity known
  • possession/distribution manufacturing Schedule I (marijuana)
  • possession/distribution manufacturing Schedule II (cocaine)
  • possession/distribution manufacturing Schedule II (fentanyl)
  • possession/distribution manufacturing Schedule IV
  • possession of Schedule II
  • possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies

According to an arrest report, two people ran out of the back door when the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant at a home on W. Garfield Street.

Butler was one of the individuals who attempted to get away. He, along with three others, was taken into custody…
