A shelter-in-place order for part of southeast Erie was lifted Thursday after police searched for a person wanted for a Longmont hit-and-run crash who had not yet been found.
Residents living around Eagle View Place and Vale Way in Erie were ordered to shelter in place from about 6:40 a.m. to 7:06 a.m while police searched for the person, according to an Erie Police Department social media post. Police lifted the order because the person of interest was likely no longer in the area, according to Erie Police Department spokesperson Amber Luttrell.
Police were unable to find the person and, as of about 4 p.m., were no longer actively searching, according to Longmont spokesperson Robin Ericson. Erie police were asked to search for the person by Longmont Public Safety because the initial incident occurred in Longmont, Luttrell said…
